With this evolved the ability to improve sleep diagnostics as well as sleep monitoring. Technology was developed and evaluated to address the long-existing challenge of patients with moderate to severe sleep apnea who are unable to benefit from the gold-standard CPAP therapy. Hypoglossal nerve stimulation has been evaluated for many years, and in 2014, Inspire therapy was approved by the FDA. Today, over 14,000 patients have received Inspire therapy and the therapy is fully reimbursed in the United States. On-going technology developments will further improve the procedure and cloud-based tools are evolving to manage patients and ensure strong patient outcomes.
