Aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), is a triad of sinonasal polyposis, asthma, and aspirin (or COX-1 inhibitor) sensitivity. It is likely more common in the otolaryngology\/rhinology practice than many practitioners realize. This course will review the clinical features of AERD, including tips and tricks for recognize this entity in the otolaryngology clinic. Various biologics available to treat Th2-mediated respiratory and allergic diseases will be discussed, along with their potential to treat AERD specifically. Finally, the course will feature a case-based discussion of various presentations of AERD-related sinonasal polyposis.
