Before coming to industry in 2007, Dr. Huhn was Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Lucile Packard Children\u2019s Hospital at Stanford University and an Associate Professor in Neurological Surgery at Stanford University. He obtained his MD from the University of Arizona and completed neurosurgery training at the University of Maryland. Dr. Huhn also completed specialized fellowships in Neuro-Oncology at UCSF and Pediatric Neurosurgery at Northwestern University, and maintains board-certification in neurosurgery and as a Fellow in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. More recent research has begun to unveil the impact of the damage to the cochlear synapses from the effects of noise, aging, and ototoxic medication synapses, and the effect on hearing in noise, as well as associated tinnitus, hyperacusis, and the condition referred to as Hidden Hearing Loss.  During this course we will review the anatomy of cochlear synaptopathy as well as discuss the potential impact to auditory processing.
