Session Description

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a serious, underdiagnosed medical condition affecting more than 25 million adults in the U.S., resulting in significant morbidity and lost productivity. The condition may contribute to a multitude of comorbid conditions, not to mention many sleep deprived bed partners.
This panel symposium will provide an in-depth exploration into the diagnosis and treatment approach to the OSA patient. Current state-of-the-art interventional options from new diagnostic techniques to implanted neuromodulation will be discussed with some of the world’s foremost experts in the field.

Session Objectives

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Discuss the clinical aspects of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and its associated comorbidities

2. Identify the current medical and surgical modalities available for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea

Discuss the role of drug induced sleep endoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of the OSA patient

3. Describe current technology in neuromodulation for treatment of moderate and severe cases of obstructive sleep apnea

4. Explain the role of surgical intervention for treatment of OSA in the pediatric population

5. Discuss current options in the treatment of primary snoring
