Session Description

This talk will focus on the breadth of a care team to provide successful cochlear implant patient management. In this talk we will describe ways that the surgeon, audiologist, and other professionals interact to provide a wholesome care approach to patients. We will briefly describe candidacy and how it has changed over the years yielding a more cohesive approach to patient care.

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Describe the role that the surgeon and audiologist play in team care for the patient

2. Describe how care for a CI recipient expands beyond the clinic

3. Itemize the most important aspects to consider for a CI evaluation
