The Earlens system offers a very broad fitting range, providing audible bandwidth across the frequency range from below 100Hz to 10,000Hz for patients with up to severe sensorineural hearing loss. Nevertheless, like all technologies and treatments, some patients are more likely to be experience full benefit than others. In this session, patient candidacy will be explored in terms of audiometry, hearing loss etiology, anatomy, psychology and hearing goals. Clinical flow will be explored, and case studies of successful and unsuccessful users provided.
After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:
1. Describe the candidacy/fitting range of the Earlens system
2. List three exclusion criteria which would suggest that the patient is not a good candidate for Earlens
3. Describe the ideal clinical flow for an ENT & Audiology practice
