Today the practice of otolaryngology has become a more office-centered specialty and less dependent on surgeries. The addition of ancillary services; allergy, hearing aid dispensing, sleep and cosmetics has been highly successful for both solo and group practices. The addition of neurodiagnostic testing for the “dizzy and balance” patient, has however, often been overlooked, despite the abundance of patients with dizziness, vertigo and falls. With the great demand and high reimbursement rates, there is no better time to consider including neurodiagnostics as a highly desirable ancillary service. This program will present an overview on strategies and solutions including reimbursement, personnel, and cost, all without putting stress and strain on providers, extenders, or the physical space.
After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:
1. List the most common conditions and complaints of patients benefiting from neurodiagnostic testing
2. Describe the personnel and space requirements and reimbursement projections
3. Name at least 3 benefits of adding neurodiagnostic vestibular and balance testing as an ancillary service
