Session Description

This presentation will review the cosmetic deformities that can result following management of head and neck cancer. These patients face psycho-social challenges resulting from change in their appearance  which are largely underappreciated. These patients can be successfully treated with adaptation of cosmetic surgery interventions typically used in the aging face but can be adapted for use in this patient population with good result.

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Recognize the cosmetic deformities presented by Head Neck Cancer patients

2. Describe the psycho-social impact of cosmetic deformity following management of head and neck cancer

3. Appreciate the role of traditional cosmetic surgery interventions in their application to this patient population
