Session Description

Hearing corrective surgery techniques and indications continue to evolve. For this course we have assembled a panel of experts who will address the current state of surgically correctable hearing loss, whether conductive or sensorineural. We will update participants regarding technological advances and evidence, to include outcomes. We will also engage in some speculation regarding future directions.

Session Objectives

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Recognize surgically correctable hearing loss and that which is better treated with surgical and non-surgical assistive technologies

2. Describe the evolution of osseointegrated approaches for hearing rehabilitation

3. Summarize challenging presentations and their surgical solutions

4. Identify the latest indication for both conventional and hybrid cochlear implantation
