Session Description

The course introduces clinicians to basic knowledge of the most common cancers of the larynx, throat, nose, and ear. Special attention is paid to proper examination, differential diagnosis, clinical work up, and treatment options. The clinicians will gain an understanding of the current management of common head and neck cancers in the clinical and hospital settings.

Session Objectives

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Recognize the main cancers related to ENT, their presentations, diagnostic methods, and current management options

2. Identify common and important abnormal clinical findings in ENT and initiate appropriate investigations

3. Recognize life threatening head and neck cancers and initiate appropriate surgical and/or medical interventions

4. Provide patient and family education for understanding their disease and treatment expectations

5. Identify challenges caregivers face in caring for patients with head and neck cancers and provide appropriate support
