Session Description

Session Objectives

After attending this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Recognize why anatomical restriction of the nasal airway results in an increase in the probability of Sleep Disordered Breathing

2. Outline the different causes of nasal airway restriction that may need to be addressed to effectively reduce the contribution of nasal restriction to Sleep Disordered Breathing

3. Describe how anatomical nasal airway restriction also leads to secondary causes of Sleep Disordered Breathing

4. Identify where correction of anatomical nasal airway restriction fits in an algorithm for successful management of Sleep Disordered Breathing

5. Understand how correction of nasal restriction can be done as an office procedure

6. Evaluate potential reasons why there is a disconnect between subjective improvement in SDB/ snoring and less data supporting that OSA is corrected when anatomical nasal restriction is corrected
